Decisions, decisions!

Okay, on with the show. Here is what you can win. Ooooh la-la. A half-yard bag made from Molly Chicken's pattern. I created this using an old vintage pillow case from the Salvation Army as well as a few scraps I had laying around of linen. It has a pocket and some flowers on the outside and three pockets on the inside.

First off, I'd appreciate you following my blog! It isn't necessary, but it would sure make my day. Plus, if this goes well I will probably be doing more giveaways in the future!

What you must do is help me solve a problem. I have fabric my mother bought me on her last trip to Hancock's of Paducah. Beautiful, beautiful fabric that needs the perfect project. I have about a yard of each and I can't decide what to do with it! I love it, I'd like for it to be in the open where I can see it and use it often. To win the bag, I'd like for you to make some suggestions. What would you do with the fabric? You can pick a project for each fabric or just one for the one you like best. So suggest away! I'll be grading you on creativity! Links, tutorials are a plus!

Okay. Okay. SewMamaSew, I can't say no to you.

Mission semi-accomplished

Working, working, working on A. James's birthday party. We are not going to do something huge, but I am handmaking a lot of things that people normally would just go out and buy so it is a little more hectic than usual. However, I got started early which is a pretty big accomplishment in itself because I adore to procrastinate. So far I have:

10 Morsbags finished for the kids to use as library bags. I need to make about 5-7 more to (hopefully) have enough for everyone.

Today, I need to get A. James's "No Bows" shirt started as well as the Birthday Bunting, which I might do out of newspapers and construction paper instead of fabric, I can't decide yet.

Tomorrow, I need to make a lizard and an owl for her and finish her "No Bows" shirt.

Thursday, I have Caleb the first part of the day. The second part, I'll finish the remainding bags.

Friday relax. Saturday Party!

Spending lots and lots of time, making lot and lots of bags

I took a break from making the million (just 15 actually) reusable library totes (from the Morsbags pattern) for A. James's birthday party and decided to make something different. I didn't stray too far. I made another bag, but this time I made a bag for me! Yay! No, I did not make a diaper bag. I am still procrastinating on that one No, No. I made a Tiny Happy Bag.



I am very excited about it. I used some material I found on clearance for $1.50 a yard (Fantastic, I know) and some material I already had on hand. I hand embroidered a little birdy design on the front and sewed that baby up! It was such an easy pattern to follow and Melissa was especially helpful with some beginner questions I had. I adore the pattern so much, I think I am going to make more.So, don't be surprised if you get one of these from me soon.

Valentine's Day Bag

So, I made my first tutorial. Pretty stoked about it. Sorry, it isn't the one for the diaper bag. I am still procrastinating on that one, thanks. I made a kid-friendly messenger-type bag for Valentines. I know, I know---A. James isn't even two and probably won't be getting any Valentines (especially if her Daddy has any say in the matter). However, she has been needing her own purse for some time now and I thought it would be a good excuse to make a tutorial.

So, where is it you ask? Right now, Amy from The Clumsy Housewife is reviewing it to make sure it is up to her standards. If she approves, I'll post it soon. So go to her page and harass her to hurry up. Just kidding, go to her page but don't harass her.

Diaperbag Dilemma

Since A. James arrived in this world I have been struggling with trying to find the right diaper bag. All the bags are either (1) Perfect size; no pockets (2)Too small; lots of pockets. We have gone through many, many bags and nothing works. I feel like Goldilocks except in a world where she never finds the bed that is "just right" and is so angry the bears don't want to mess with her and just allow her to live in their house. Haha, not really that bad.

However, this may be good news for you! I've decided to make my first bag pattern and tutorial in an attempt to fix this problem! Yay!
